The Hurricane Show Choir program consists of two show choirs with more than 110 student participants from Hurricane, West Virginia. The Hurricane Show Choirs are directed by Mr. Joseph Kincaid and assistant directors, Mrs. Kristy Roberts and Mr. Shane Robinson, as well as three choreographers.
RED HOT, the mixed show choir have won the West Virginia State Show Choir Festival 15 times since formed in 1992. As is the current reigning championship.
HEAT WAVE, the all-female show choir formed in 2016, has won their division for six consecutive years at the West Virginia State Show Choir Festival.
Managing two high quality programs year after year is incredibly expensive. The cost of music, costumes, and sets are just a portion of the overall funding needs. In order for our groups to continue to improve and compete at a national level, we must travel to do so. Travel expenses for more than 110 students comes with a large price tag and costs continue to rise each year.
We are asking for you to consider sponsoring our groups for the upcoming competition season to assist with these expenses. Outlined in the following pages are several opportunities for your organization to get involved and show your support. Our students work extremely hard to master their shows and to highlight the Hurricane community, Putnam County and the State of West Virginia in a positive way, and with your assistance they can continue to do so.
